Your cell phone.

Recent studies have found that using your cell phone while driving raises the risk of accidents, especially if you are texting. Every day, technology is incorporated into our lives, and with the new developments of different computers, phones, and even cars, we are straying away from what really matters…safety on the road. Sure, cars are developing into stronger pieces of machinery, but they are also adding features that can distract us and cause us to look away from what is in front of us on the road.

Now there are laws out against using a cell phone while driving, however, not all states are up to date. However, even if states have these laws prohibiting the use of cell phones while driving, people tend to disobey them and call or text as they are on the road. There is a reason why states have these laws—for YOUR safety!!!

Cars today are equipped with a special bluetooth option that can link with your phone without even being physically connected. It’s easy then to press a button and then talk while keeping your eyes on the road. However, a lot of people today find it easier to text on their phone, other than simply calling who they wish to talk to.

Even more studies today find that texting whilst driving is the most dangerous thing you could do on the road. According to a TIME Magazine blog article, researchers found that, across the U.S., deadly nighttime crashes involving drivers between the ages of 16 to 19 increased by 10% between 1999 and 2008. During the same period, fatal nighttime collisions involving drivers ages 20 and older rose by 8% during the same time period.

Over in the UK, there is a PSA video that features teenagers that text while driving. We have found the video to be quite graphic and many youtube users comment saying this video has scared them deeply.

If you would like to view the video, please click on this link: ** WARNING ** It is very graphic….
